*$5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS* The employee will receive half after completing orientation, and the remaining half after six months of employment. 

Position Summary and Core Job Responsibilities and Skills:

Performs responsible professional work in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of therapeutic recreation program to increase, maintain, or restore functions, maximize, or prevent disability, and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels in the areas of leisure education, adaptive recreation, and recreational activities. Works within a team in the delivery of care and participates in educational experiences for students. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in recreation therapy, therapeutic recreation, recreation administration or an equivalent program 
  • 1 year as a Recreation Therapist required, 2 years preferred.
  • Licensure as a Recreational Therapist by the Consortium for Therapeutic Recreation/Activity Certification or National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)
  • Must be efficient in word processing and type 40+wpm.
  • Current/valid driver's license

Organizational Competencies

  • Attends all mandatory education and training programs (including department specific) and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance as well as department safety and specific job-related hazards.
  • Maintains all required CEUs for certifications and licensure.
  • Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
  • Attire is professional, neat, clean, and appropriate for the work environment, according to the BHS and/or Department Appearance Policy and a high standard of personal cleanliness is maintained.
  • Reports to work on time and meets acceptable standard for attendance, based upon the department attendance policy.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM

Salary Range: $43,000-$50,000
